US offshore rig count continues to rise

HOUSTON– The Baker Hughes weekly rig count finds the number of offshore drilling rigs continues to creep up, reaching a total of 29, one more than the prior week.

Thetotal US rig count is higher as well, plus three to 862 from the prior week. The total remains 1,012 fewer than at the same time last year.

Meanwhile, the total Canada rig count is up four to 139 on an increase in gas rigs.
